CbGäRDN is a luxury skincare brand that takes pride in their ingredients: hemp oil, cannabis sativa seed extract, and gold. I recently had the opportunity to try out their new CBGöld line, and now I will be sharing my honest thoughts with you! 

About CBGäRDN and Their Brand

CbGäRDN’s inspiration stems from the outstanding effects of their main ingredients. Cannabis sativa seed oil is becoming increasingly well-known as an anti-inflammatory for the skin. This is important because inflammation causes most of the problems we do not want for our skin, A.K.A acne and wrinkles. 

Cannabis sativa oil can also aid in decreasing rough texture of the skin, leaving a soft and smooth complexion while providing important nutrients and hydration. 

Hemp oil is a bit different as it is derived from a different part of the plant, but is just as beneficial. I have used hemp seed oil before and love the feeling of hydration and softness it provides. It is used for its anti-inflammatory properties as well as its anti-aging effects. 

CbGäRDN incorporates these ingredients along with gold in a new and innovative way to treat your skin to the care it deserves.

First Impressions 

Upon receiving the products, I was super excited to try a few in specific. I’d used CBD products before and was going into this with high hopes! 

Here is what I received from the line and my initial thoughts:

• CBGöld Cleansing Elixir Kit – Comes with CBGöld Facial Cleanser and Facial Toner – Cleansing is critical to great skincare, and I never knew just how important toning is, too! Initially, I didn’t like the applicator for the toner, but I will elaborate on this later. Both products smelled subtle and pleasant. 
• CBGöld Microexfoliant Plus – I had never used a microexfoliant like this one, so I was excited but a bit nervous, because exfoliating products sometimes irritate my skin pretty bad. This product claims to be gentle, so after a good patch test, I was ecstatic to try the soft gel out. 
• CBGöld Bio-Restorative Cream – Of all the products that have irritated my skin, creams like this are my most common enemy. I wish I knew why, but I wasn’t going to let that get in my way of testing the benefits. This cream is a light green/minty color with again, a subtle but nice smell. 
• CBDGöld Eye Serum Concentrate – One of the issues I struggle most with in regards to my skin is dark undereye circles/bags. I have tried numerous home remedies and a few somewhat pricey creams, but none have actually cured the annoyance of my bags. So, receiving this eye serum brought me quite a bit of joy. It is a gel-like consistency with a pump applicator, which I love. I did not notice a smell with this one. 
• CBDGöld Anti-Wrinkle Confidence Solution – When opening this product, I was a bit confused as it was my first time seeing this kind of applicator. The product is a syringe filled with a “velvety formula” of cannabis sativa extract, gold, and organic sweet almond oil. This solution is to be applied directly to fine lines and wrinkles to visibly reduce them. 
• CBGöld Night Renewing Cream – The Night Renewing Cream is another that I was most excited to try. I love waking up with a bright, smooth face, and I was sure with the ingredients, this would do the trick. This cream had a light green color and subtle smell similar to the Bio-Restorative Cream. 

CBGöld Cleansing Elixir Kit 

The CBGöld Facial Cleanser comes in a glass bottle with a pump applicator. It is designed to detoxify the pores and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. The ingredients are gentle but effective enough to remove impurities and leave the skin with a gorgeous complexion.  

Directions: Apply a small amount on damp skin, lather, and massage for one minute. Simply rinse off with warm water!

Upon my first use of the CBGöld Facial Cleanser, I thoroughly enjoyed how gentle the formula feels on the skin. It doesn’t have an intense smell, which I know most people prefer, so that’s a plus. 

I typically prefer my cleanser to feel like it’s truly cleaning out the dirt and impurities in my skin. While I trust the ingredients in this product, it just didn’t have the feel of a deep cleanser. I used this for a few days (about three or four) as my only cleanser, but eventually began incorporating my standard cleanser before using the CBGöld. I have now resorted to just using both to ensure the clean feeling while still benefitting from the CBGöld Facial Cleanser. 

The CBGöld Facial Toner comes in the same type of bottle, which I originally didn’t enjoy because of the watery consistency and my tendency to miss where I’m aiming on cotton balls (which you are directed to use). Because of this I sometimes apply my toners directly to my face if possible, but this applicator isn’t the best for that. 

Directions: Use a cotton ball to apply toner to face, avoiding the eye area. 

Overall Opinion:

The CBGöld Facial Cleanser is far from being one of my favorites, but for those who need a super gentle cleanser or who tend to get dry from cleansing, this may be for you! The product was pleasant overall, just not my cup of tea when it comes to ensuring my face truly feels clean. 

The toner was also an overall decent product as well, but once again, not my favorite. It is meant to moisturize with hyaluronic acid, but it leaves my skin feeling a bit like rubber. After completion of the routine, my skin feels better and hydrated, but right after the toner, it’s somewhat unpleasant. 

CBGöld Microexfoliant Plus 

This exfoliating gel is made with cannabis sativa seed oil, gold, and vitamin E, designed to refresh skin and remove unwanted impurities.

Directions: Apply a small amount to a cleansed face. Gently massage using upwards motions for 30 seconds. Rinse immediately with cool water. Use 1-2 times a week, followed by CBGöld Bio-Restorative Cream. 

I didn’t necessarily know what to expect when using this product for the first time. I followed the directions with caution and rinsed immediately after using. When massaging into the skin, you can feel the excess impurities, dirt, and dead skin begin to rub away. It took a bit more effort than I’d expected to rinse all of the excess off my face, but afterwards, I could feel a big difference. 

Overall Opinion:

I used the CBGöld Microexfoliant Plus four times over the last two weeks, and I have noticed a major difference in the appearance of my skin regarding impurities and have seen the blemishes slowly fading away. I can tell that over a longer period of time, this will drastically improve the appearance and texture of my skin, and I am excited! 

Please note that the directions for this are important. Face products, especially exfoliants in my experience, can be seriously harmful if not done properly!

CBGöld Bio-Restorative Cream 

The CBGöld Bio-Restorative Cream is a “lightweight day cream” infused with a number of ingredients to moisturize, soften, and nourish while providing a long-lasting glow. 

Directions: Apply on the face and neck daily using upward motions. 

Ingredients:

• Sunflower seed oil – provides hydration, anti-aging effects, and nutrients 
• Shea butter – moisturizes, softens, and provides anti-inflammatory properties
• Cannabis sativa oil – hydrates, softens, smooths, and provides nutrients 
• Gold – helps to firm skin, increase elasticity, brighten, and provide anti-aging nutrients
• Vitamin E oil – moisturizes, heals, and works to strengthen the skin’s barrier 

After using this for two weeks, I have grown to like it a lot. Sometimes day creams cause me to have a bad reaction, but this one has been so far so good. It is definitely one of those products that you need to give a bit of time before you see a difference, apart from a bit of a glow. It has slowly but surely begun to smooth, soften, and tighten my skin. 

The hydration aspect isn’t the best in my opinion, and I still need a separate moisturizer every day. It could work for oily skin, though, because it provides natural oils without overdoing it or clogging the pores. 

Overall Opinion:

I was nervous for this cream in the beginning, but I enjoyed it in the long run! It provides a natural-looking glow while providing incredible benefits over time. If you’re looking for a product to truly brighten, tighten, and smooth, this is definitely worth a try.

CBDGöld Eye Serum Concentrate 

This serum is packed with ingredients to reduce the appearance of shadows and puffiness under the eyes. Made with ingredients to revive the sensitive skin around your eyes, this should aid in the brightening and hydration you need. 

Directions: Apply to the eye area in a clockwise motion every morning and evening. 

Important ingredients include:

• Organic green tea extract – works to soothe, moisturize, and heal while providing improved blood circulation, anti-aging properties, and much more 
• Vitamin C – Helps repair skin cells, provides anti-aging properties, brightens dark spots, and evens complexion 
• Cannabis sativa extract – softens and smooths skin, provides moisture and nutrients 
• Gold – increases elasticity, brightens, and provides anti-aging properties 

As mentioned, my dark under eyes are one of my biggest issues when it comes to my skin. I’m learning to love them while simultaneously trying to get rid of them. They are noticeable and my eyes don’t take concealer well, so make up application is hard. 

This serum is a gel consistency, which I prefer over thin serums. I have noticed a slight difference in my under eyes regarding brightness and hydration after using this for two weeks, which makes me excited for the future.

Overall Opinion:

You can’t usually expect eye creams to work super quickly, so the fact that I’m seeing a small difference so far is alright with me. I have high hopes! Plus, make up application is much nicer around my eye area after doing my regime! 

CBDGöld Anti-Wrinkle Confidence Solution 

This anti-wrinkle serum is designed to go directly onto fine lines and wrinkles. It is made with ingredients to help target and reduce the appearance of fine lines on the skin, such as retinyl palmitate. 

Ingredients:

• Sweet almond oil – packed full of antioxidants and nutrients, such as vitamin e, to fight the degradation of collagen
• Retinyl palmitate – anti-aging ingredient that helps fight signs of wrinkles, fine lines, dark spots, and uneven complexion
• Cannabis sativa extract 
• Gold 

I have used this nearly every day for the last two weeks, and I do not particularly enjoy the application. There’s not much of a smell and the consistency isn’t bad, but I don’t like the formula all that much, which is super sad to me! 

I personally haven’t seen much of a difference in my fine lines, which are only now progressively causing me problems. Perhaps someone with deeper wrinkles could benefit much more, and the ingredients point towards that being the case. 

Another issue I’ve had with this solution is that it rubs off if you rub anything over it, overdo the amount of product, etc. So, there were a couple days I skipped this step solely because I knew it would rub off into my make up.

Overall opinion:

As I said, the ingredients in CBGäRDN’s CBDGöld Anti-Wrinkle Confidence Serum are great, and I have faith that someone in need of a product to help diminish fine lines or wrinkles could benefit. I personally just didn’t enjoy the formula for my face. 

CBGöld Night Renewing Cream 

CBGöld Night Renewing Cream is designed to soften and moisturize the skin. Full of antioxidants and ingredients designed to correct impurities, this cream is the best way to achieve a beautiful look easily. 

Smooth this cream on your face each night to begin to see results.

Night creams are a big favorite in my routine, so I was excited to try this one out! I immediately enjoyed everything about it, from the super soft scent to the texture. I used this every night for two weeks, typically using the applicator it comes with. Within a few days, I loved waking up to see my skin. It looked well-moisturized and full of radiance without applying anything. 

Overall Opinion:

The Night Renewing Cream is definitely amongst my favorites of the CBGöld Collection. It works as it says it will, and I’m sure I will see a major difference in the weeks and months to come. I recommend this to those of you seeking a product to soften, moisturize, and even skin tone all in one. 

CBGöld Collection: Final Thoughts 

My overall opinion of the CBGöld line from CbGäRDN is pretty high. I will admit this is one collection I’ve had the most mixed feelings for, but I know how I am personally and that others could potentially benefit without the same setbacks. 

The CBGöld Night Renewing Cream, Bio-Restorative Cream, and Eye Serum Concentrate are my favorite and most recommended products of the line by far. My complexion has begun to appear much brighter, smoother, and super firm. If you have the extra money and are looking to invest in products that work, these are something to look into!

So, What’s the Big Deal About Truffles?

As I am sure you have heard, truffles are quite the thing in the culinary world, with prices going into the thousands for a single pound. These little fungi are hidden and tricky to uncover, so truffle hunters use pigs or dogs to sniff out the fabulous fungi in the wild. Truffles grow beneath the soil within the roots of certain types of trees. With the difficulty of finding natural truffles in the wild, you can imagine these culinary gems are selling at the highest prices.

I had the honor of testing out the five products in Truffoire’s Orchidea Truffle Collection over the past two weeks. Here is what I thought of each product:

Truffoire Truffle Orchid Silk Mask

Truffoire’s truffle orchid silk mask is one of my favorite products in the Orchidea Truffle Collection. The lightweight formula is soft, with a slightly fruity fragrance. You don’t need much to get an even spread across your face and neck;  two pumps are sufficient. It is an excellent moisturizer for dry skin, and you will feel the continued moisture for a few hours after application.  

I  prefer to use this on a morning when I am not leaving the house so I can let the mask fully penetrate my skin before applying my other daily creams. Due to the formula being so light, you don’t get the feeling you even have a mask on. Compared to other skincare lines where the products are heavy and sometimes greasy, this formula is a great alternative. I also love the fact that you don’t rinse it off, and it works as an extra moisturizer for your face throughout the day.

The ingredients for the silk mask include a blend of Vitamin E (Tocopheryl Acetate), white truffle extract, and fruit extracts, including Bilberry and Gogi berry.

Directions for use:

Using once a week, apply the silk mask evenly across your skin. Let it absorb for 10 minutes, then gently massage into the skin. Leave the small droplets that form on the surface of your skin to be absorbed. Do not rinse off.

Truffoire Truffle Night Eye Recovery

Truffoire’s truffle night recovery are masks infused with ingredients to soothe the delicate skin under our eyes The box comes with two dozen eye masks that should last you anywhere from six to twelve months, depending on your desired use.

I have only used this product once in the two weeks since using the Truffoire Orchidea Collection, and I did find the mask soothing and hydrating.  While I did not see any remarkable change in the circles beneath my eyes, I did feel that my skin was smoother, softer, and hydrated. This product is a great extra moisturizer, especially during the winter months, when our skin tends to be dryer.

Some of the natural-sounding ingredients listed include water, sea algae extracts, paraffin oil, Lavandula Angustifolia, and white truffle extract along with the other more scientific-sounding ingredients including hyaluronic acid chitosan, glycerol propylene glycol, and peregal collagen.

Directions for use:

Apply each gel mask onto clean, dry skin in the area below the eye. Gently adhere the mask to your skin with your fingers. Allow the mask to work for 15 to 20 minutes before peeling away. Use two to four times per month.

Truffoire Truffle Skin Corrector

Truffoire’s truffle skin corrector is another one of my favorites from the Orchidea Collection. The gel is lightweight, smooth, and moisturizing. I love the applicator. Pump once, and a small amount of gel secretes out onto the roller. The uncomplicated applicator makes it simple to roll-on the formula in any area where you may have a dark spot or skin discoloration. It quickly absorbs into the skin, so you don’t have to wait long before applying your daily moisturizers and sunscreens.

Directions for use:

Pump the applicator until you see the gel at the top of the applicator.  Gently roll onto areas of concern. For best results, use daily and follow with the Orchidea truffle brightening cream.

I have been using the skin corrector daily for the past two weeks. I have one area of concern on the left side of my face due to sun damage that I have had for almost a decade. After two weeks of use, my spot is still there. Whether or not the dark spot has faded over the past two weeks is hard to say. I will continue using the product in hopes that my area of concern will begin to fade over the next few months.

Truffoire Truffle Brightening Cream

Truffoire’s truffle brightening cream is most certainly the brightest in the bunch. The lightweight cream has a refreshing scent and goes on smooth and creamy. This remarkable moisturizing cream isn’t just overly hydrating, leaving your skin silky smooth, it also contains a UVA defense of plus SPF30. The brightening cream does just that; it brightens your face giving you a fresh, youthful look along with a more even skin tone.

I have been using the truffle brightening cream for two weeks now, and I absolutely love this product. It is an instant refresher that I love to put on to my face after I use the truffle skin corrector.  

My skin tone is fair, and a bit on the splotchy side.I have never felt truly comfortable leaving the house without the application of tinted BB cream, which gives me a more even skin tone, and an extra layer of protection from the sun.  Since I have started using the truffle brightening cream, I have not felt the need to use my BB cream. My skin tone is more even, and I certainly don’t feel self-conscious going make-up free.

Directions for use:

Apply Truffoire’s truffle brightening cream daily on a cleansed face and neck at least 15 minutes before sun exposure. For best results, use with the Orchidea truffle skin corrector.

Truffoire Night Repair Truffles

Truffoire’s night repair truffles are an absolute special treat for your skin.  The formula in each little truffle leaves your skin feeling silky smooth. While one is supposed to be enough, I have had to use two each week to be able to apply evenly on my face and neck. The silky formula in each little truffle capsule will leave your skin feeling pampered and soothed, perfect right before bedtime. 

While I think the mini truffle capsule packaging is cute, I am not enthusiastic about adding to the microplastic waste problem. Also, these petite little capsules may spray if not opened carefully. The first time I opened one, the contents ended up in my hair. While I suppose this was the best way to make sure we are using the correct amount each week, a friendlier packaging without the waste would be great. 

Overall, I think the night repair truffles are most definitely a skincare gem, and I look forward to using them each week.

Directions for use:

Apply and massage onto cleansed skin at night. Use weekly. For best results, use with the other products in the Truffoire Orchidea Collection.

When looking over the list of ingredients, it is not clear if the ingredients are only for the formula found in the mini truffle capsules, or if the ingredients are for the capsules as well. For a full list, click here.

Packaging

All of the products in Truffoire’s Orchidea Collection come packaged in thoughtfully designed containers in an orchid-esque color scheme. The silk mask comes in a metal container with a simple to use pump. The skin corrector is in a more slender metal container with a simple pump and roll-on applicator.  

Both the truffle brightening cream and truffle night repair cream come in jars with the matching shaded orchid color scheme. Both have gleaming metal tops that will show your reflection and are easy to open. You won’t have any issues letting this gorgeous collection decorate your bathroom countertops.

All of the items come in creamy white, almost iridescent outer boxes that open to a light shade of lilac, matching the product containers. The packaging for this luxurious skincare line is lovely and makes quite an impression upon opening.  

All of the products are paraben-free and have not been tested on animals.

Take-Away

If you’re looking for a way to moisturize, hydrate, and brighten your skin while continuing to fight anti-aging, the Truffoire Orchidea Collection is a great way to start. Over the past few weeks, my skin feels thoroughly hydrated and moisturized with a more even skin tone, and should I dare say, even a little brighter.  

Overall, I am impressed with Truffoire’s Orchidea Collection.  Packaging and containers are an essential part of the overall look of any luxury brand; it’s what inside of those packages that count the most. The creams and formulas in each of these products hydrate and moisturize your skin, leaving you feeling refreshed with a healthy glow. I certainly have a few favorites in the collection; the silk mask, the skin corrector, and most definitely, the brightening cream.

Resveralife is a whole-life brand that focuses on a healthy lifestyle “inspired by all five senses – sight, touch, smell, taste and sound”. They offer skin and body care products, aromatherapy, herbal teas, yoga supplies, and tea accessories.

Their premier featured ingredient is resveratrol, a polyphenol produced in vegetation when it is under duress. This compound is primarily found in red grapes as well as red wine, and is known for its antioxidant properties both for overall health and in skin care uses. Not only does it act as an antioxidant, but it also has anti-inflammatory properties as well.

Their website also features an active blog series, divided into “Look Well”, “Live Well’, and “Eat Well”, as part of their holistic approach to self-care. It includes great articles about skin care, healthy lifestyle tips, and even nutritional advice.

Resveralife Botanical Body Exfoliant

The Product Description

This stimulating body exfoliant is formulated with a precise blend of bamboo extract powder and organic argan oil to help exfoliate and renew while botanical oils purify and calm skin.

The Instructions

Apply a handful onto wet skin. Massage gently. Rinse thoroughly. Follow with the Botanical Body Butter.

My Experience

• First of all, the scent was amazing as soon as I opened the jar. It is fresh and herbal and a little fruity, with a slight hint of vanilla. I know that fragrance does not matter as much when you are going to rinse the product off, however I still like a nicely scented product when I am using it.  It did have an overall botanical fragrance instead of that artificial smell which a lot of “botanical” products have.
• The texture is quite pleasant as well, almost like a lightweight grainy lotion. I will admit that I am rather picky when it comes to my body scrubs. I prefer them to be dense when it comes to the ratio of exfoliation particles but non-greasy so that they rinse cleanly and easily. I am not normally a fan of the salt plus oil varieties since they usually do not scrub very well and tend to leave a film. This one had the perfect blend of carrier product with exfoliation particles.
• The exfoliation was almost spot on for my preferences. I was able to use it everywhere from the neck down (some can be too harsh for the décolleté area) and did not leave my skin red or irritated at all, just smooth and soft. I used it before shaving my legs, and was able to get an amazingly close shave.  It was effective enough for my elbows and knees, but gentle enough to use all over.
• My general opinion is that this product is pretty great!  The light fragrance was pleasant, the texture was creamy yet exfoliating, and the level exfoliation was gentle but effective.  I also think that price was pretty reasonable – the jar is almost 9 ounces and is only $25 on their website.

Resveralife Botanical Body Butter

The Product Description

This rich body butter represents the ultimate in hydrating luxury and feels like pure silk on the skin. Shea butter, marigold flower extract and sunflower seed oil help moisturize and hydrate the skin, while organic chamomile and aloe vera help to soothe.

The Instructions

Massage onto cleansed skin using circular motions.

My Experience

• The scent is divine actually! It is pretty much exactly how I would want a botanical body butter to smell, light and a little fruity with a subtle hint of vanilla. It pairs beautifully with their body scrub, but the scent lingers a little more. I did not find it overwhelming throughout the day; sometimes heavily fragranced products can become cloying or sickening after smelling them all day long.  I do not think the subtle scent would interfere with most perfumes, if you wear them.
• The texture seems to be slightly whipped and light, and it absorbed into my skin very quickly. I tend to moisturize my whole body daily and this product did not delay my getting dressed as some sticky creams can.  It was much lighter than most products named ‘butter’ but that did not affect how my skin felt.
• The moisturization was amazing.  Even from just using it a few times, I can tell that this would keep away that tight and uncomfortable feeling, like my skin is a few sizes too small.  On the first day I used this, I could not stop touching my arms – they were so soft and smooth and comfortable which does not always happen for my poor skin.
• My general opinion about this body butter is that it’s fantastic! One quick side note, the first day I tried it, the weather outside was very humid so my skin was a little sticky but that didn’t last long. I used this in combination with their Botanical Body Exfoliant and would highly recommend the pair together! The price of the butter is pretty reasonable, the jar is a generous 8.82 ounces and only $25. And a little goes a long way!

I was able to test both of these products together, and they made a wonderful pair! Suffice it to say, my skin was baby soft all day long after using this delicious pair! Based on my experience with this brand so far, I am pretty impressed. In addition to the body products, they do have a few facial products. I can only imagine how my face would feel based on the way my legs feel!

Body Care Tips

I would also like to add a few quick notes about the importance of taking care of your skin from the neck down. It can be a neglected part of the routine, and doesn’t need to be. Here are ten golden rules of taking care of your body’s skin:

1. Gentle is the name of the game. Using a gentle soap or body wash so that you don’t strip your skin of the natural oils. If your soap is too harsh, you can strip your skin and leave it more dehydrated than before.
2. Likewise, a warm shower is better than a hot bath. Soaking in very hot water can strip your skin and leave it even more dehydrated. And staying in the water too long can also damage your skin, so only stay in as long as you need to.
3. Exfoliation is the process of removing the dry and dead skin cells that can build up on our skin. Not only does it help even out the skin tone, but it also increases blood circulation, boost your skin’s glow, and preparing the skin for your moisturizer. Try exfoliating just before you shave. When you remove the flaky dry skin cells, you will be amazed at how close your shave will be!
4. After rinsing away all traces of your exfoliant and soap, dry your skin gently. Don’t rub your skin vigorously to dry off but instead, gently pat the moisture off your skin. You want to leave it slightly damp for when you apply your moisturizer. If you have extra dry skin, you may want to consider moisturizing twice a day so that you don’t get tight and flaky.
5. Make sure to moisturize every day. It helps keep those fresh new skin cells soft, smooth, and hydrated.  Moisturizers also help protect the skin from environmental hazards such as wind, sun, and free radicals.
6. It’s best to use these two in conjunction with each other, using the body scrub in the shower and then applying the moisturizer onto damp skin to maximize absorption. It really helps lock the moisture into the skin.
7. Bundle up when the weather turns cold.  The cold and the wind can really sap the skin, making it tight and uncomfortable and sensitive.  Winter conditions are hard enough without putting your skin at more risk.
8. Make sure to wear your sun protection.  If you’re taking the time to exfoliate and moisturize, you have to make sure to safeguard that beautiful skin.  This is important even in the winter since the sun can cause damage any time.  SPF is essential for any part of you that has skin – that means everywhere!
9. There are two specific areas that sometimes give away our age more quickly than our face. With a little Tender Loving Care, they don’t necessarily have to! Do not treat your décolleté any harsher than you would treat your face. That skin is more delicate than you might realize, and requires a gentle touch. Likewise, caring for your hands is important. Using an exfoliating cream at night and an SPF hand cream during the day will help insure they stay soft and smooth.
10. Your knees and elbows and heels are a different story. Most of the time these areas are drier and flakier, and can really take a heavier hand on the exfoliation.  They also need a heavier moisturizer to penetrate through that thick skin, think balm instead of lotion.

So, what’s the big deal about truffles?

I had the honor of testing out the five products in Truffoire’s Orchidea Truffle Collection over the past two weeks.  Here is what I thought of each product:

Truffoire Truffle Orchid Silk Mask

Truffoire’s truffle orchid silk mask is one of my favorite products in the Orchidea Truffle Collection.  The lightweight formula is soft, with a slightly fruity fragrance.  You don’t need much to get an even spread across your face and neck;  two pumps are sufficient.  It is an excellent moisturizer for dry skin, and you will feel the continued moisture for a few hours after application.  

I  prefer to use this on a morning when I am not leaving the house so I can let the mask fully penetrate my skin before applying my other daily creams. Due to the formula being so light, you don’t get the feeling you even have a mask on. Compared to other skincare lines where the products are heavy and sometimes greasy, this formula is a great alternative.  I also love the fact that you don’t rinse it off, and it works as an extra moisturizer for your face throughout the day.

The ingredients for the silk mask include a blend of Vitamin E (Tocopheryl Acetate), white truffle extract, and fruit extracts, including Bilberry and Gogi berry.

Directions for use:

Using once a week, apply the silk mask evenly across your skin.  Let it absorb for 10 minutes, then gently massage into the skin.  Leave the small droplets that form on the surface of your skin to be absorbed.  Do not rinse off.

Truffoire Truffle Night Eye Recovery

Truffoire’s Truffle Night Recovery are masks infused with ingredients to soothe the delicate skin under our eyes.  The box comes with two dozen eye masks that should last you anywhere from six to twelve months, depending on your desired use.

I have only used this product once in the two weeks since using the Truffoire Orchidea Collection, and I did find the mask soothing and hydrating.  While I did not see any remarkable change in the circles beneath my eyes, I did feel that the skin was smoother, softer, and hydrated.  This product is a great extra moisturizer, especially during the winter months, when our skin tends to be dryer.

Some of the natural-sounding ingredients listed include water, sea algae extracts, paraffin oil, Lavandula Angustifolia, and white truffle extract along with the other more scientific-sounding ingredients including hyaluronic acid, chitosan, glycerol propylene glycol, and peregal collagen.

Directions for use:

Apply each gel mask onto clean, dry skin in the area below the eye.  Gently adhere the mask to your skin with your fingers.  Allow the mask to work for 15 to 20 minutes before peeling away.  Use two to four times per month.

Truffoire Truffle Skin Corrector

Truffoire’s Truffle Skin Corrector is another one of my favorites from the Orchidea Collection.  The gel is lightweight, smooth, and moisturizing. I love the applicator.  Pump once, and a small amount of gel secretes out onto the roller.  The uncomplicated applicator makes it simple to roll-on the formula in any area where you may have a dark spot or skin discoloration.  It quickly absorbs into the skin, so you don’t have to wait long before applying your daily moisturizers and sunscreens.

Directions for use:

Pump the applicator until you see the gel at the top of the applicator.  Gently roll onto areas of concern.  For best results, use daily and follow with the Orchidea truffle brightening cream.

I have been using the skin corrector daily for the past two weeks.  I have one area of concern on the left side of my face due to sun damage that I have had for almost a decade.  After two weeks of use, my spot is still there.  Whether or not the dark spot has faded over the past two weeks is hard to say.  I will continue using the product in hopes that my area of concern will begin to fade over the next few months.

Truffoire Truffle Brightening Cream

Truffoire’s truffle brightening cream is most certainly the brightest in the bunch.  The lightweight cream has a refreshing scent and goes on smooth and creamy.  This remarkable moisturizing cream isn’t just overly hydrating, leaving your skin silky smooth, it also contains a UVA defense of plus SPF30.  The brightening cream does just that; it brightens your face giving you a fresh, youthful look along with a more even skin tone.

I have been using the truffle brightening cream for two weeks now, and I absolutely love this product.  It is an instant refresher that I love to put on to my face after I use the truffle skin corrector.  

My skin tone is fair, and a bit on the splotchy side.  I have never felt truly comfortable leaving the house without the application of tinted BB cream, which gives me a more even skin tone, and an extra layer of protection from the sun.  Since I have started using the truffle brightening cream, I have not felt the need to use my BB cream.  My skin tone is more even, and I certainly don’t feel self-conscious going make-up free.

Directions for use:

Apply Truffoire’s truffle brightening cream daily on a cleansed face and neck at least 15 minutes before sun exposure.  For best results, use with the Orchidea truffle skin corrector.

Truffoire Night Repair Truffles

Truffoire’s night repair truffles are an absolute special treat for your skin.  The formula in each little truffle leaves your skin feeling silky smooth.  While one is supposed to be enough, I have had to use two each week to be able to apply evenly on my face and neck.  The silky formula in each little truffle capsule will leave your skin feeling pampered and soothed, perfect right before bedtime. 

While I think the mini truffle capsule packaging is cute, I am not enthusiastic about adding to the microplastic waste problem.  Also, these petite little capsules may spray if not opened carefully.  The first time I opened one, the contents ended up in my hair.  While I suppose this was the best way to make sure we are using the correct amount each week, a friendlier packaging without the waste would be great. 

Overall, I think the night repair truffles are most definitely a skincare gem, and I look forward to using them each week.

Directions for use:

Apply and massage onto cleansed skin at night.  Use weekly.  For best results, use with the other products in the Truffoire Orchidea Collection.

When looking over the list of ingredients, it is not clear if the ingredients are only for the formula found in the mini truffle capsules, or if the ingredients are for the capsules as well.  For a full list, click here.

Packaging

All of the products in Truffoire’s Orchidea Collection come packaged in thoughtfully designed containers in an orchid-esque color scheme.  The silk mask comes in a metal container with a simple to use pump. The skin corrector is in a more slender metal container with a simple pump and roll-on applicator.  

Both the truffle brightening cream and truffle night repair cream come in jars with the matching shaded orchid color scheme.  Both have gleaming metal tops that will show your reflection and are easy to open.  You won’t have any issues letting this gorgeous collection decorate your bathroom countertops.

All of the items come in creamy white, almost iridescent outer boxes that open to a light shade of lilac, matching the product containers.  The packaging for this luxurious skincare line is lovely and makes quite an impression upon opening.  

All of the products are paraben-free and have not been tested on animals.

Take-away

If you’re looking for a way to moisturize, hydrate, and brighten your skin while continuing to fight anti-aging, the Truffoire Orchidea Collection is a great way to start.  Over the past few weeks, my skin feels thoroughly hydrated and moisturized with a more even skin tone, and should I dare say, even a little brighter.  

Overall, I am impressed with Truffoire’s Orchidea Collection.  Packaging and containers are an essential part of the overall look of any luxury brand; it’s what inside of those packages that count the most.  The creams and formulas in each of these products hydrate and moisturize your skin, leaving you feeling refreshed with a healthy glow.  I certainly have a few favorites in the collection; the silk mask, the skin corrector, and most definitely, the brightening cream.

It’s always exciting when you find a new skin care line that seems to offer exactly what your skin needs. However, there’s no denying that the initial thrill can quickly wane once you realize that you fell for clever marketing tactics, and that the product you so intensely coveted is actually nothing special. 

So, it was with some apprehension that I gave the Flore de Peonia collection from newcomer brand Pearl de Flore a try. Here’s what I thought…

Who is Pearl de Flore? 

Having only recently launched, Pearl de Flore is a luxury skin care brand that focuses on creating gentle yet effective products. This can seem a bit counterintuitive at first – after all, surely if a product is going to be effective, then it needs to be strong instead of gentle? 

Not necessarily…

It all comes down to ingredient innovation. Pearl de Flore makes use of ingredients that come from nature whenever possible. Floral extracts are simple in their molecular makeup. This makes them gentle to the skin. Yet they’re also among the most powerful ingredients in the industry. 

Each of the four collections from the brand have undergone extensive testing. This not only confirms their safety, but also their efficacy. 

A Closer Look at the Flore de Peonia Collection 

While each of the Pearl de Flore collections are enticing for their own reasons, the Flore de Peonia collection was the one that appealed to me the most. In addition to containing an expertly-curated blend of botanical extracts, the products in this collection also contain a high concentration of DMAE, an ingredient that I’ve always been eager to try. 

What is DMAE? 

DMAE, which is short for dimethylaminoethanol, is a molecule that’s naturally produced by the body. It’s been taken for years as an oral supplement to help with brain function and mental alertness. 

However, recent studies have been focusing on the topical use of DMAE, with results looking extremely promising. One study found that after DMAE was used daily for 16 weeks, the effects were: 

• A reduction in fine lines and wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes 
• Tighter skin 
• Dark circles under the eyes faded away 

Even better, after participants stopped using DMAE for two weeks, the improvements didn’t regress. 

DMAE has proven itself to be an ingredient that the skin readily tolerates, without the dryness, redness, and irritation that’s commonly associated with such powerful ingredients. 

Peony Flower Extract

As you can tell from the name of the collection, another key ingredient is Peony Flower Extract. This isn’t a botanical that you commonly see in skin care products, so I did a little sleuthing to find out more. 

It turns out that the extract is taken from the root of the flower. It’s an exceptionally powerful antioxidant that is capable of reducing excess pigment in the skin, therefore having a brightening effect. 

Each of the five products in the Flore de Peonia Collection contain both DMAE and peony flower extract, along with a long list of other botanicals. While individual products can be used on their own and integrated into your existing skin care routine, the brand recommends trying a few of them together for maximum benefits. That being said, the Flore de Peonia collection on its own isn’t enough to create a full skin care routine, as it’s lacking a cleanser, a toner, and a sunscreen. 

While Pearl de Flore do sell these products as part of their Flore de Rose Collection, I decided to use my go-to cleanser and toner alongside the Flore de Peonia collection. 

How to Use the Flore de Peonia Collection 

Cleansing should always be the first step of every skin care routine, so this is what I started with. I use a mild and non-foaming cleanser, as my skin often reacts to harsher formulas. I then followed this up with a purifying toner. Just like most of the other products that I use, as well as the Pearl de Flore products I was preparing to try, my toner is also based on natural ingredients. 

The Flore de Peonia Deep Tissue Treatment Masks 

There are three masking products in the Flore de Peonia Collection. While multi-maskers might choose to combine them, I decided to use the two Peonia Deep Tissue Treatment Masks together, and then save the Peonia Bioactive DMAE Tightening Mask for the following week. 

There are two deep tissue sheet masks in the Flore de Peonia collection. One is designed for the face and the other for the neck and chest. 

I started with the face and eye masks, removing them from the packaging. Positioning them onto my face was surprisingly easy. I could immediately feel a cooling sensation as I smoothed them down onto my skin. 

I then opened up the neck and chest mask, wishing that I had applied this one first. However, the face and eye masks didn’t slide off, even as I was looking down to adjust the neck and chest mask. That being said, I would definitely recommend applying the neck and chest mask first, followed by the face mask. 

After 15 minutes, I removed all of the masks. My skin looked pretty wet, as there was quite a bit of serum left behind. I followed the instructions and massaged this into my skin, and it truly surprised me how quickly my skin drank it up. 

The Verdict on the Deep Tissue Treatment Masks: 

Both masks were impressive. They provided a near-instant glow. I have to admit that my chest area isn’t one that I usually focus on, but I will do after seeing just how much better the skin here looked post-mask. 

The Peonia Enriched Age Repair Nectar 

Being in my late 30’s, fine lines have been creeping up, with some of them threatening to turn into deeper wrinkles. Just like the many other women out there who are trying to do all that they can to delay facial aging, I turned to the internet for help. I learned that antioxidant serums were one of the best ways to turn back the clock on my skin. 

The Peonia Enriched Age Repair Nectar perfectly fits into the category of being an antioxidant-rich serum. In addition to peony extract and vitamins A and C, it also contains rosemary and rose extracts, along with multiple humectants for a hydrating finish. 

The Verdict on the Peonia Enriched Age Repair Nectar:

I pumped a couple of drops out onto my fingertips and then applied the serum to my skin. It felt luxuriously silky and absorbed quickly. Once it did, my skin felt noticeably softer, unlike other serums I’ve tried that have either left it feeling overly dry and tight or uncomfortably greasy. This formula seems to provide the perfect balance! 

The Peonia Floral Firming Complex 

Since I was incorporating the Flore de Peonia collection into my evening skin care routine, the Peonia Floral Firming Complex was the last step. If I were using these products during the day, then I would top this moisturizer off with a sunscreen. 

Let’s first talk about this product’s ingredient list – it reads like a work of art. The formula contains literally everything that you could want from an anti-aging moisturizer. It’s got the humectants to hydrate plus the vitamins and botanical antioxidants to repair and protect. 

This cream also contains squalane. This is an ingredient that has been proven to improve the skin at a cellular level. You’ll also find this ingredient at the top of the ingredients list. This means that it has been used in a large enough concentration for it to produce dramatic results. 

The Verdict on the Peonia Floral Firming Complex: 

The moisturizer felt rich, but it wasn’t greasy in any way. Just like the other products in this collection, it soaked into my skin quickly. It didn’t leave an unpleasant residue behind. It also had a gorgeous scent to it, even though it doesn’t contain any artificial fragrances. I’m assuming that this comes from all of the botanicals packed into this frosted pink jar! 

The Peonia Bioactive DMAE Tightening Mask 

I waited a week after using the deep tissue masks before giving the Peonia Bioactive DMAE Tightening Mask a try. This is a mud and clay-based mask that uses bentonite and Deep Sea mud. However, it doesn’t feel quite as thick and heavy as a standard clay mask. This is likely due to all of the other ingredients within that lighten the formula up, from the jojoba oil to the extracts of rose, peony, sage, ivy, and aloe. 

This mask is designed to be used weekly on clean skin. So, I cleansed my skin and then gave this mask a try. 

The Verdict on the Peonia Bioactive DMAE Tightening Mask: 

I’m not usually a fan of clay masks. I find that my skin often feels more dehydrated after using them, so I only left this one on for 10 minutes, instead of 15. After rinsing it off, my skin looked significantly brighter. I could easily see that my skin tone was more even. I have a couple of age spots appearing around my chin but these looked far less noticeable. Even better, the fine lines around my eyes seemed to have virtually disappeared too! 

Is the Flore de Peonia Collection Worth it? 

In one word; yes. It would be difficult to find these cutting-edge ingredient combinations in any other skincare lines on the market. They really are so unique. However, they’ve obviously been well-researched, since everything works beautifully together. 

If natural, plant-based ingredients are what you look for in skin care products, then Pearl de Flore is a brand that you definitely need to know about.

Forgetting to turn it off when you’re done using it could be a safety hazard. Therefore, you need to remember to turn it off every time to avoid any potential danger.

Price: The styler is on the pricier side compared to other hair straighteners on the market. While I think the quality justifies the cost, it may not be feasible for everyone’s budget.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I’m a big fan of the Evalectric Classic Styler. Its quick heating, smooth plates, adjustable temperature, and long cord make it a joy to use. Also, I’ve noticed that my hair looks smoother and shinier since I started using it. While there are a few cons to consider, such as the lack of automatic shut-off, I think the pros outweigh the cons. It may not be suitable for those looking for a tool that can also curl or wave hair. Between my social media feeds, my favorite beauty blogs, and my go-to skincare stores, I seem to be seeing Venofye just about everywhere. This skincare brand has managed to get the beauty world abuzz with their bee venom-infused products, so much so that I decided to jump onto the Venofye bandwagon too and treat myself to a few products. 

The big question is: is Venofye skincare worth the hype? Here’s what my experience taught me:

Firstly, Who is Venofye?

Venofye is a skincare brand that was launched back in 2015, so they’re not new to the skincare world. Over the past few years, as more and more studies pointed to the many ways in which bee venom can benefit the skin, brands that utilized the ingredient started to shoot into the spotlight, with Venofye being one of them. 

Venofye’s Skincare Collections

Each of Venofye’s skincare collections has a specific purpose. Every product contains bee venom but they’ve been grouped in a way that makes shopping for your skin so easy. For example, the Royal Jelly Bee Collection is all about eye care while the Beehive Collection focuses on hydrating the skin. Meanwhile, the Blossom Bee Collection offers everyday basics and the Serpent Thermatox Collection has been designed to reduce the look of environmental damage.

Since my biggest skin concerns are dehydration and oiliness (it’s a difficult combination to deal with!), plus dark marks from acne breakouts and excess sunbathing in my youth, I decided to purchase a lightweight moisturizer from the Beehive Collection, along with the entire Serpent Thermatox Collection. I also couldn’t resist trying one of their fast-acting, complexion-plumping solutions. After all, these high-performance formulas are what so much of the hype has been about!

Here’s a closer look at each of these products:

The Beehive Silk Cream

So many brands make big promises when it comes to their moisturizers being lightweight and non-comedogenic, but I find that very few seem to deliver. However, a glance at the ingredient list of the Beehive Silk Cream showed that this formula had some potential, so I couldn’t resist trying it.

As soon as I applied it to my skin, I knew that I was going to love it. You can sometimes tell when a product is going to break you out before it actually does so, but there was none of that with this moisturizer. It truly is a lightweight formula that seems to disappear into my skin so quickly. 

In terms of ingredients, there are several cutting-edge compounds in this product that contribute to its luxury appeal. Bee venom is, of course, one of them. However, this is combined with peptides, vitamins, antioxidants, and some super hydrating humectants in a way that results in an exemplary moisturizer.

The Serpent Thermatox Masque

The Serpent Thermatox Collection is a three-product system that should be carried out once a week. The first step of this trio is the Serpent Thermatox Masque.

This clay mask features kaolin, which is my favorite clay because of how it quickly mattifies my complexion. I’ve had problems with clay masks leaving my skin drier in the past but this one doesn’t do that. I’m guessing that’s because of the many hydrating and moisturizing ingredients that have also been used in it, such as aloe vera leaf extract and sweet almond extract. 

What makes this mask extra special is how it heats up when it’s applied to the skin. This has the effect of making the pores (as well as myself!) feel relaxed, allowing the mask to better pull up impurities.

The Serpent ThermDeluxe Serum

The Serpent ThermDeluxe Serum has been designed to be layered over the Serpent Thermatox Masque. Its purpose is to intensify the heating effect of the mask. However, it also contains a few noteworthy ingredients of its own, such as vitamins A and C.

When I first used it, I was a little concerned about how warm this mask would get. However, it remains at a very comfortable temperature. The serum does make things feel a little warmer but not too much – it just makes the whole experience so much more indulgent and spa-like!

I love that this serum contains lactic acid, which is an exfoliating acid. I’m not sure if it’s down to the serum or the mask but my skin most definitely feels softer and looks noticeably brighter after each use of this duo.

The Serpent Rehydrating Cream

Once the mask and the serum have been washed off, it’s time to use the Serpent Rehydrating Cream. This is a thicker formula than the Beehive Silk Cream that I also purchased, yet only slightly. It still works well on my oily skin, which surprised me!

Venofye has also included a gua sha tool with this collection. They recommend using it along with the face cream to really enhance its effects. This was my very first gua sha tool so I was excited to give it a try.

The verdict? I loved it. The cream on its own is already exquisite but combining it with the gua sha tool seems to encourage absorption while also calming the complexion. Although the mask from this collection should only be used weekly, I’ve been using the cream several times a week, usually at night. I also use the gua sha tool daily.

The Royal Bee Rapid Beta Plump Infusion

Last but definitely not least, the Royal Bee Rapid Beta Plump Infusion. This product claims to be able to get to work quickly, immediately plumping and brightening the complexion to give it a newfound radiance.

Does it actually work? The answer is a resounding yes! In fact, I couldn’t believe quite how quickly it was able to produce a difference in the look of my skin. Since then, I’ve been diligently using Lionesse products in a few stages of my skincare routine. Five weeks is just about long enough to judge how these products have performed, which leads me to this review! The Lionesse Morganite Transforming Serum was my very first purchase from the brand. I’m about to start on my second bottle of it, so it’s safe to say that it’s a product I love!

Thanks to the stabilized form of ascorbic acid that it contains, this serum has pretty much replaced the vitamin C serum that I used to use. I love that it also contains peptides and sodium hyaluronate, while diamond dust adds a shimmery touch of luxury!

How Well Does it Work?

This serum has an almost instant effect on how soft and smooth my skin feels. My skin is usually on the dry side but just one use of this serum completely changes that, which is what made me fall in love with it so quickly!

Five weeks later and I’ve noticed that my skin looks brighter and generally healthier. It feels much smoother too, even on the days when I don’t use this serum. With that said, it’s one that I now turn to almost every night when carrying out my evening skincare routine!

So, I can confidently say that all of those visible improvements are solely down to this sumptuous eye cream!

Since my skin often feels quite dry, I don’t usually use clay masks. However, when I read about how the Lionesse Black Onyx Mask heats up as it’s applied to the skin, I couldn’t resist giving it a try, purely for the decadent experience alone!

I’m a little paranoid about my neck. Although there were only a couple of faint fine lines to worry about, I’ve seen deep neck wrinkles and sagging on my mother and grandmother, so I can only assume that those same delights await me too.

The Hydrating Multifruit C-Serum was the very first Avinichi product that I tried, with this being one of the two that I was continuously borrowing from my friend. It’s safe to say that I was hooked from my very first use. This was purely because of how soft it left my skin feeling as soon as I first tried it.

What makes this serum stand out from the rest is its superior ingredient list. Unlike many of the other vitamin C serums out there, this one contains two forms of the antioxidant. This means double the power. It’s also packed with so many other antioxidants, from other vitamins to botanical extracts. In case you weren’t aware, antioxidants always work better together. This makes it worth checking that any vitamin C serum you use provides more than just vitamin C.

In terms of the results that I’ve seen after two months, the texture of my skin looks noticeably smoother. My skin type veers toward the dry side, meaning that my skin used to look a little bumpy and rough. That all stopped about a week after I started to use this serum. Even better, my complexion has only improved since then!

The Eye Rescue Phyto-Serum: An Ingredient Blend Like No Other!

Here’s the lowdown on each product I’ve used, along with whether or not I would buy them for myself.

First things first – this serum is beautifully lightweight. I was slightly concerned about it containing sunflower seed oil, but this doesn’t make the serum feel greasy or sticky in any way. It disappears into my skin after just a few seconds, leaving my skin feeling silky to the touch.

When it comes to pampering my skin, I’m always on the lookout for something a little different. Caviar, diamond dust, kale…you name it, I’ve tried it, and my efforts are usually rewarded with at least a couple of noticeable improvements in various aspects of my complexion.

However, I can confirm that the walnut shell powder in this exfoliant is as fine as can be. It has been so well ground that it really does feel more like a soft dust. I usually have to be very careful with the eye care products that I use. The skin around my eyes is pretty sensitive, but this serum feels so soothing and refreshing. It doesn’t irritate my skin or make it tingle, even when used twice a day. I’d say that it took about two or three weeks for this serum to start making a difference to my skin, and the results have only been getting better since then.

The main purpose of this mask is to hydrate the skin, and it most definitely does that. At the same time, it’s also filled with so many superfruit extracts. Goji, acai berry, chokeberry, pomegranate, bilberry…if you’re into superfoods, you’ll appreciate the powerful antioxidants that each of these ingredients packs. They’re renowned for their health benefits when consumed and bestow the same beneficial properties on the skin when applied topically. These effects are enhanced by the inclusion of bee venom.
